I can’t believe it’s over. After following Antonia Scott and Jon Gutierrez through Red Queen and Black Wolf, reaching the final pages of White King felt like saying goodbye to old friends – ones who have survived more than their fair share of chaos, danger, and heartbreak. I absolutely loved this series, and while I’m sad to see it end, White King delivered everything I could’ve hoped for in a finale.
White King picks up where Black Wolf left off, throwing us straight into the action with Antonia and Jon facing their most dangerous adversary yet. As always, Juan Gómez-Jurado’s pacing is relentless – there are no wasted moments, no unnecessary tangents, just pure, high-stakes storytelling. If I thought the previous books had me in edge, this one took it to another level.
What I Loved:
- Antonia Scott, Always a Queen: Antonia has been one of the most fascinating protagonists I’ve ever read. Her intelligence, emotional depth, and internal struggles make her feel so real yet extraordinary, and in White King we see her pushed to her absolute limits. I loved watching her evolve across the series.
- Jon Gutiérrez, My Favourite Sidekick-Turned-Main-Character: Jon might just be my favourite character in the entire series. His loyalty, humour, and the way he balances out Antonia’s sharp edges make him the perfect counterpart. His journey, in this book felt deeply personal, and I was completely invested in where he ended up.
- Twists, Turns and More Twists: If you think you have it figured out – trust me, you don’t. White King had me permanently on the edge of my seat. Gómez-Jurado is a master at pulling the rug out from under you just when you think you’re on solid ground.
Would I Recommend:
Absolutely. This series has been one of my absolute faves in recent years, and White King was a phenomenal conclusion. It’s fast-paced, intelligent, and filled with unforgettable characters. If you haven’t started the Antonia Scott / Red Queen series yet, what are you waiting for?
Have you read White King yet? What did you think?
